This is an edited translation of a lace knitting pattern in Danish found at


K = knit
K2TOG = knit 2 together
P = purl
SK2P = slip 1, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over
YO = yarn over
()x = knit text in brackets as many times as indicated after the "x"
*-* = repeat enclosed instructions till end of round.

Rows not mentioned are knit plain.

Cast on 8 stitches on 4 needles.

Continue knitting by following either the written instructions or the chart below.

Row 1: *YO, K1*

Row 2-4: K

Row 5: *YO, K1*

Row 6-8: K (32 stitches in round)

Row 9: *K2TOG, (YO)x7, K2TOG*

Row 10: K. The 7 YO's from previous round are knit through back of loops. (18 stiches on each needle = 72 in round)

Row 11-16: K

Row 17: *YO, K9*

Row 19: *YO, K1, YO K9*

Row 21: *YO, K3, YO, K3, SK2P, K3*

Row 23: *YO, K1, YO, SK2P, YO, K1, YO, K2, SK2P, K2* (24 stitches on each needle)

Row 25: *YO, K3, YO, K1, YO, K3, YO, K1, SK2P, K1*

Row 27: *YO, K1, YO, SK2P, YO, K3, YO, SK2P, YO, K1, YO, SK2P* (28 stitches oneach needle)

Row 29: *K13, YO, K1, YO*

Row 30-32: K

Crochet stitches off like this:

*Insert hook through 2 stitches, yarn over hook, pull back trough stitches, and pull through all loops on hook, chain 4.*

Do 2 more rounds with * chain 4, 1 double/single crochet in loop from previous round.*

Cut thread, and weave in ends.
